We feel better when we move more of our bodies

Have you heard of Rajio Taiso? It's such a great idea in my view, especially for schools. It's a type of activity that gets the whole body moving in a restorative way.

When this type of activity becomes the norm for children it's a healthy habit that will be more likely to be carried over into adulthood.

I've always thought that if we can integrate compulsory short bursts of movement into our days, to break up times of lack of movement, like sitting, we would reduce many musculoskeletal issues, have less sick days and minimise those all too familiar energy slumps at 3pm.

Here's a short video that explains it more. I find it fascinating that even in 1928 we realised that our natural movements were being reduced as our cultures change and evolve, and that with as little as 3 minutes of your day you can move and energise the mind and body- and it will probably put a smile on your faces too.

What a great concept!
